Quartz countertops have transformed modern kitchens. Engineered from 94% natural quartz crystal bound with high-grade resins, today’s premium quartz delivers the beauty of natural stone with durability natural stone can’t match.

At Modern Stone Design, we install quartz countertops from the world’s leading manufacturers — Cambria, Caesarstone, Silestone, MSI Q, Vadara, Viatera, and others — across Cherry Hill and the entire South Jersey region.

Why Quartz Has Become the Top Kitchen Countertop Choice

In the past decade, quartz overtook granite as America’s most-installed kitchen countertop. The reasons are practical:

  • Zero sealing required — quartz is non-porous and never needs maintenance sealing
  • Stain resistant — coffee, wine, oils don’t penetrate the surface
  • Scratch resistant — daily use leaves no marks
  • Bacteria resistant — non-porous surface meets food safety standards
  • Uniform appearance — when you order, you get exactly what you saw in the showroom
  • Marble-look options — modern quartz mimics marble veining with stunning realism
  • 10-15 year manufacturer warranties from premium brands

Premium Quartz Brands We Install

Cambria Quartz

Cambria is the only American-made premium quartz, manufactured in Minnesota. Cambria’s marble-look patterns (Brittanicca, Skara Brae, Britannia) are favorites in Cherry Hill kitchens. Lifetime warranty.

Caesarstone

Caesarstone, founded in Israel, pioneered the engineered quartz industry. Their Statuario Maximus and Calacatta Nuvo patterns deliver dramatic Italian-marble looks. Particularly popular for waterfall islands.

Silestone

Silestone by Cosentino offers the widest pattern selection — from solid colors to dramatic marble-look options. Silestone N-Boost technology adds extra stain protection. 25-year warranty.

MSI Q Quartz

MSI Q delivers premium looks at value pricing. Excellent for budget-conscious projects without sacrificing modern style.

Vadara, Viatera, and Others

We also install quartz from Vadara, Viatera (LX Hausys), HanStone, Pentalquartz, and other leading manufacturers — giving Cherry Hill homeowners the full range of options.

Quartz Patterns and Trends

Today’s quartz offers unprecedented design flexibility:

  • White quartz with subtle veining — currently the most popular look
  • Bold marble-look quartz — Calacatta-style patterns with dramatic veins
  • Solid concrete looks — modern industrial aesthetic
  • Black quartz — making a comeback in contemporary kitchens
  • Warm taupes and cream tones — for transitional and traditional styles
  • Honed and matte finishes — softer alternative to polished

Quartz vs Quartzite — Don’t Confuse Them

Despite similar names, quartz and quartzite are completely different materials:

  • Quartz = engineered (man-made with natural crystal + resin), uniform appearance, no sealing, lower cost
  • Quartzite = 100% natural metamorphic rock, unique veining, periodic sealing, higher cost

Both are excellent. Quartz is more practical; quartzite has more character. See our quartzite countertops page for that natural option.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is quartz heat resistant?

Quartz handles normal kitchen heat but can be damaged by direct hot pans (over 300°F). Always use trivets — same rule as any countertop.

Does quartz look fake?

Modern premium quartz is virtually indistinguishable from natural stone. Brands like Cambria and Caesarstone have made huge leaps in realistic veining and depth.

How is quartz different from quartzite?

Quartz is engineered (94% quartz crystal + resin binder). Quartzite is 100% natural metamorphic rock. Both are excellent — quartzite is harder and more unique, quartz is more uniform and lower-maintenance.
