Double vanity countertops require special planning — getting two sinks, two faucets, and a long stone surface to look intentional rather than utilitarian. After installing hundreds of double vanities across New Jersey, we’ve refined the process.
Standard Double Vanity Sizes
- 60″ double vanity — most common in NJ master bathrooms
- 72″ double vanity — luxury master baths
- 84-96″ custom double — for large master suites
Stone Selection Strategies
Single-Slab Continuous Look
For 60-72″ vanities, a single slab can span the entire countertop without seams. Best with patterns that look intentional across the full length — Calacatta, Carrara, or large-pattern quartz.
Bookmatched Slabs
Two slabs cut from the same stone block, then “opened like a book” so the natural veining mirrors itself across the centerline. Creates dramatic symmetric beauty — a luxury detail favored in Moorestown and Haddonfield high-end master baths.
Center Seam (When Necessary)
For vanities longer than 96″, a center seam may be required. We minimize seam visibility through:
- Color-matched epoxy fills
- Precise pattern alignment across the seam
- Strategic seam placement at the center of the cabinet (not at sink locations)
Sink Configuration Options
- Two undermount sinks — modern standard, sleekest look
- Two vessel sinks — bold, decorative
- Two trough sinks — modern shared style
- Two integrated stone sinks — carved from same slab as countertop (luxury)
Backsplash for Double Vanities
Long backsplashes draw the eye and tie the design together:
- 4″ matching stone backsplash — clean, included standard
- Full-height stone slab — spa-luxury impact
- Decorative tile — subway, mosaic, herringbone for visual texture
Edge Profile Recommendations
- Eased edge — modern, clean
- Beveled edge — transitional
- Mitered edge — for thick-look luxury (often paired with waterfall ends)
- Bullnose — traditional, soft
