Our Installation Process
Installing stone countertops correctly requires more skill than most homeowners realize. The difference between a good install and a great one shows in the seams, the edges, and the finished alignment. Our approach:
1. Digital Templating
We bring laser-based templating equipment to your home for measurements precise to 1/16 inch. We document every cabinet edge, sink location, faucet placement, range alignment, and wall variation. No guesswork; no surprises during install.
2. Slab Layout and Cutting
Back at our shop, we plan the cuts to minimize seams, optimize natural veining, and align patterns where applicable. With premium stone, we often book the slab for you to approve the layout before cutting begins.
3. Edge Profile Fabrication
We cut and finish edges using CNC equipment for precision and hand-finish for the polished final look. 12+ edge profiles available — eased, beveled, ogee, bullnose, half-bullnose, double bullnose, waterfall, mitered, and more.
4. Sink and Cooktop Cutouts
Precise cutouts for any sink type (undermount, drop-in, farmhouse) and any cooktop. We coordinate with your specific fixtures’ templates.
5. Polishing and Sealing
Surfaces receive their final finish (polished, honed, or leathered as specified) and natural stone gets its initial sealer application before delivery.
6. Site Installation
Our installation team arrives with everything needed: protective floor covering, lifting equipment, leveling shims, color-matched epoxy for seams, and finishing materials. Typical installation: 4-6 hours for a standard kitchen.
7. Final Walkthrough
Before we leave, we walk through the installation with you, demonstrate care procedures, provide written maintenance instructions, and answer any questions.

If you’ve purchased a stone slab elsewhere — perhaps from a stone yard, an estate sale, or a designer connection — we install client-supplied material at fair fabrication-only rates. We handle templating, edge work, cutouts, and installation. (For best results and one-stop accountability, we recommend purchasing through us, but we’re flexible.)
